The Past

Let’s talk about the past! We can spend so much time in the past - and while it can be fun to look back at memories, it can create a whole bunch of pain as well. In this video I talk about how thinking about the past - and in particular dwelling on and feeling the feelings of the past - can hold you back in the present. In this video you’ll see:

  • Why focusing on the past can create a lot of negative emotions

  • What it means to take the lessons of the past and leave the rest behind

  • Where the past exists (if it even does!)

The Work

Once you’ve watched the video, work through these questions:

  • How much time am I spending in the past?

  • What am I focusing on when I think about the past?

  • How does that make me feel?

  • What can I take with me as a lesson - and how can I let go of the rest?
